RETO C4DX 2024 – CREATIVITY FOR DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN OHS

Creativity for Digital Transformation in the area of Occupational Health and Safety to help workers become aware of the space they occupy in the environment in which they work (REAL WORLD AWARENESS) and therefore improve thei development of software applications for implementing the predictive prevention from the participation of all stakeholders in the prevention process.

About this:

In this academic year 2023-2024, the challenge we are launching focuses on practical works related to the proposal of creative ideas for digital transformation in the area of occupational health and safety that help workers to become aware of the space that each person occupies in the environment in which they perform their work activity (real world awareness) and thus can improve personal safety conditions in the workspace as well as the implementation of software applications for the predictive prevention from the participation of all stakeholders involved in the prevention process. This, within the programs taught in the Universities of the Community of Madrid, and that have been developed during the academic year 2022-2023 and 2023-2024.

2024 Challenge:

Real World Awareness

It is important to be aware of the space that each of us occupies in the environment in which we work (real world awareness).

The human being is inserted in a real environment that he/she perceives as what surrounds him/her, what he/she hears, what he/she feels, with what and with whom he/she communicates. Being aware of this environment, of its state at all times and of the changing dynamics that characterize it and how it can affect him/her at all times, is what is understood by “real world awareness”.

Implications

The work environment does not escape the risks to which people are always exposed, but it is important that these risks are minimized and that people are sufficiently aware that risks exist, that they are vulnerable to them, and that if the necessary measures are not taken, they may suffer accidents at work.

Prevention must start with the individual and the way he or she relates to the world. With today’s technologies, it seems that people are more “disconnected” from their environment and more “clinging” to virtual environments that are potential distractions. It is possible to reduce this if organizations value their workers and promote the development of technologies to mitigate the tendency to “disconnect” from the environment.

Who might be interested in this challenge?

Students of the Universities of the Community of Madrid, of legal age, who have presented their practical work during the academic years 2021-2022, 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 within a program of studies taught in the Universities of the Community of Madrid. The nationality of the winners may be Spanish or foreign.
