Germán Dugarte-Peña

German Lenin Dugarte Peña is Dean of Faculty for the Madrid center of the Institute for the International Education of Students Abroad. Previously he has been Assistant Professor and researcher at the Computer Science Department of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Universidad Francisco de Vitoria. He is a Systems Engineer from the Universidad de Los Andes, Master in Computer Science and Technology and PhD in Computer Science and Technology from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He has been a Visitor Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University twice, during summer-fall 2017 and summer 2019.

His research interests include: software process improvement, value-based software engineering, software engineering in general, software process modeling and simulation, theory and practice of complex systems, system dynamics, organization theory, cognitive modeling and cybernetics.

He is an invited member of the Latin American School of Systemic Thought and Design since 2010, where he served as Secretary-General for 10 years. He is a current member of the System Dynamics Society, of which he is promoting the creation of its Spanish chapter.
